Under Open Skies is a thirty-kilometre long artistic journey between six towns in the urban community around Béthune-Bruay whose purpose is to enhance the image of the outstanding sites in the area through the medium of art.
An artist in residence creates a work of art that becomes a temporary or permanent part of the site for which it was created. The development of each piece of work involves and promotes exchanges between the artist, the place, the environment, the local inhabitants and potential users.
